Global demand for methanol in the last five years has grown by more than 45% to $32 billion in annual sales, with further growth expected.

US Methanol LLC, entered the methanol production industry with the acquisition and relocation of a plant that previously operated in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The plant, known as Liberty One, commenced production in 2023 at its new location near Charleston, West Virginia. The facility underwent major upgrades, repairs, and modifications in its construction phase, and capacity started at 200,000 tpa, with future expansion possible.
